FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Truthfully, the answer isn't totally straightforward because there are so many different modalities of therapy!
Coaching definitely isn't a replacement for therapy. Overall, therapy or counseling is best for treating mood and psychiatric disorders, teaching coping skills, and helping you understand your past. As a general rule, if your mental health is substantially interfering with your day-to-day functioning**: therapy is the best fit for now. Coaching can be a fantastic add-on to therapy once you're back to your baseline!
Coaching is future-focused and about working towards goals. We may dip into your past to understand what's holding you back now, but we stay anchored in the present and what's holding you back from getting what you want most for yourself.
**Examples of limited day-to-day functioning might include (but not limited to): unable to work or follow through on work/social commitments, current flashbacks, extreme isolation, not getting out of bed, and dramatic changes in hygiene, sleep, or eating routine.
Coaching: ICF-certified Life Coach program that included 6-months of intensive training, practicums, and mentorship from a Master Certified Coach. I've completed over 500+ hours of coaching. I continue to work with a Master Certified Coach 2x a week to improve on my coaching.
Trauma Informed: Year-long trauma-informed certification that included supervision and consultations from senior trained therapists prior to launching TCC. I continue to use trauma therapists for supervision and consultation for my coaching clients.
Misc: I am trained in restorative justice practices and circle keeping.
Upcoming: I will be completing IFS (Internal Family Systems) certification in 2023.
I've left some of the above purposely vague for privacy reasons, but I am happy to provide concrete details on my training and exactly which programs I worked with, as well as my experience outside of sex work on request.
Coaching sessions happen 1x/a week for one hour over the phone or via video call. We start every session by establishing what you want to work on for the session, spend about 40 minutes diving into the topic, and end the session with any action steps or accountability as needed.
Don't worry - we'll go over this in more detail :)
There's also coaching and communication that happens between sessions. As a coach, I am as involved & hands-on as my clients want me to be! I love hearing updates and providing support between sessions or accountability when asked for.
There's more time commitment required in the first 2-months.
After that initial onboarding, things become a little bit more routine and require only an hour a week. Maybe 1.5 so you have time outside session to plan/reflect/calendar.
During the initial 2- months, you'll want to make sure your schedule has time for roughly 3 hours a week. 1-hour for our 1:1 sessions, and a cumulative 2-hours for between session work: brainstorming, goal planning, session reflections, communicating updates/wins with me, and reviewing onboarding materials.
That means if you have extended travel or commitments coming up in the next 2-months where you won't be able to squeeze in an hour to chat and some time on flights/planes to journal or make notes, I'd recommend getting started once you've returned. You're welcome to reach out now to get the ball rolling!
You'll need to be in a place where you can make your personal growth a true priority. A place where you're not only willing - but excited to block out other commitments.
Of course, the life of a companion isn't predictable and I am very flexible and understanding of the inevitable flight delays, last-min FMTYs, etc. I have flexible rescheduling policies, and as long as we get the session on the calendar for the same week, I don't charge last min change fees. My main reason for making sure we keep sessions is so we don't lose that progress!.
For individual coaching, I have a business commitment to always having one fully pro-bono regular client.
I also offer sliding-scale coaching to providers who charge $500/hr or less.
For group coaching, 100% need-based scholarships will be available.
Yes, I encourage sex workers from all corners of the industry to reach out! I work with in-person sex workers, online-only sex workers, strippers, etc.
Of course, my direct & most substantial experiences have been with FSSW.
Absolutely! I welcome neurodivergent clients, particularly as someone with ADHD myself!
For ADHD clients, I've specifically developed ADHD-friendly resources as part of my practice. I will also be rolling out both group ADHD coaching and individual ADHD coaching program in 2023 that will incorporate teaching practical ADHD skills with coaching.

For other neurodivergent clients, I have thought a lot about making my approach as accessible as possible. I provide space for feedback and adjustments throughout coaching and am incredibly flexible. I'm always happy to adjust my approach to best suit any client's needs. If we choose to work together, we'll spend time in our initial conversations establishing super clear communication, preferences, and expectations.
PS: If we don't end up working together, I highly recommend seeking out a coach who is also neurodivergent or has a lot of training working with neurodivergent clients! Regular personal change stuff often doesn't work for our brains the same way. Neurotypical coaches tend to be a little less patient with our quirks. Take it from someone who's learned that the hard way!
